Before the start of the last major of season there is very little time left, and Tiger Woods will try to make the most of it to “get better”. Woods admitted to reporters that at the moment he is experiencing some difficulties.
“Right now my long game is not as good as I would like,” said Tiger. “Everything is going great around the greens, but I need to work on controlling my strikes. This is especially true given the forecast weather and possible changes in wind direction. I have to be ready to cut the ball, spin it up and kick at different heights. Today I held a good training session on the range, and tomorrow I will have to hold another one. I hope this is enough for preparation. ”
Woods arrived at Royal Portrush golf club on Sunday and played 18 holes in the company of Patrick Reed. The next day, Tiger led another full round, and this time his partners were Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler. On Tuesday, Woods worked in proud solitude in the second nine of the local arena, and in the future he plans to refrain from new training rounds until the start of the competition. Remember that lately Tiger has not been exhausting himself too much with performances, and after the April triumph at the Masters major, he held only a dozen competitive rounds.
“I want to stay in the game for as long as possible,” Woods told reporters. “And you need to understand that I won’t be able to play for a long time if I play too often.”
