Dylan Frittelli managed to spend three dozen starts in the top American division, but until recently, the South African golfer’s record did not include a single hit in the top 10. Before the final round of the John Deere Classic tournament, Frittelli got a good chance to correct this omission and fully realized this opportunity by performing flawless 64 (-7), which allowed him to finish the competition at the top of the standings. Dylan began his pursuit of the title with a series of three consecutive birdies, and he took the sole lead at the beginning of the second nine.
“I would not say that it was quite easy for me to perform here,” admitted Frittelli, who in four days allowed only one bogey. - But it was much easier to play than in the previous few weeks. I managed to cope with my nerves. ”
Russell Henley, whose score 61 (-10) was his personal record in the PGA Tour, also achieved the best result of the week. Only on the second nine, Russell managed to perform six Birdies, but even this finishing spurt did not allow him to rise above the second line.
Third place was occupied by Andrew Landry, the day before leading the standings, and Collin Morikawa for the second week in a row hit the top-5. Remember that last week Morikawa finished just a step away from his first title, although the young golfer joined the pro just a little over a month ago.
