European Tour: Results of Porsche European Open. The long-awaited triumph of Paul Casey.
Paul Casey managed to interrupt his many years of series without victories in the PGA Tour in March, and now he was marked by a similar achievement in the European Tour, where he hadn’t won titles for five years. Casey won the Porsche European Open tournament last weekend. He taken his fourteenth title in the highest European division.
The Englishman walked at a minimum distance from the leaders before the final round, but perfectly surpassed the first nine of the Green Eagle Golf Club, which allowed him to join the fight for the title. Three holes before the finish line Paul shared the first line with three opponents, but the 42-year-old golfer got two boards in the end and he managed to avoid asking the attitude on the additional holes.
Bernd Ritthammer and Robert MacIntyre had a chance to move the match to the playoffs, but were unable to put their putts on the final hole, ending the tournament at minus thirteen. It is noteworthy that McIntyre scored eleven minuses already in the middle of the tournament, but too weakly spent the third round, during which the Scot issued only one birdie against three bogs.
